The anthology has been published under the project for preparing and publishing educational theological books for theological schools, proposed by the Synodal Education Committee of the Russian Orthodox Church and implemented by the Round Table for Religious Education and Diaconia. The anthology includes the writings by St. Cyril of Alexandria, St. Theodorite of Cyra and a codex of writings known under the name of Dionysios Areopagitos dated the late 5th and the early 6th centuries. The earlier books in the series are "The 3d Century Fathers and Teachers of the Church" in two volumes and "The 4th Century Fathers and Teachers of the Church" in three volumes.
